those numbers would be out of date as most reserves in Sask are still being discovered. Heck even the new finds in BC will skew what is known of canada's reserves and where they are located

Most Members may have guessed that I enjoy Gordon Lightfoot. There was a time in this fair land when...a person could make a living hauling freight. Looks like if a person can offer mechanical aptitude as their primary skill, and driving as supplementary or incidental, they can make a living related to Oil Fields.

Any farming experience? Feed mill, grain elevator? Ex-Military, they love you! Highlight this, along with your driving.

 

What area are you looking at relocating too? You do have to find a place within 30 min of where your base is. Some bases like Red Deer have ample housing, but also have ample employees. Bases like Hinton, Grande Prairie, lloydminster, Fort St John, and others need people. Lloydminster has a housing shortage, so unless you can find housing I would look elsewhere. Theres also Saskatchewan bases that need people as well.

You need to get the resume in the right hands, the website job postings are useless. Job fairs work better.

There must be an army of vac trucks working the reservoir near the Red Deer River. Anyone have an update on the pipeline leak and the containment? Betcha the firm that holds that contract is looking for workers, at the very least to relieve their current drivers for a break.

 

Out of date? No. While the figures I posted are not from "today", they are the most recent published and proven and therefore relevant. Anything else is speculation.

 

I'm interested to know what kind of position I could qualify for. I have my AZ (class 1) and have drove for 12 years. I've hauled vans, tanks, flats and floated equipment for construction. I have been a vounteer firefighter for 18 years and am well versed in pumps and such. I am currently a captain where I oversee as many as 50 firefighters at a scene. I also spent 12 years as a conductor on the railroad. Clean abstract, never any accidents or violations. Have a few beers now and again, no drugs.
