Do you think Canada should import foreign drivers?

    are you done whining?

if i as a BC resident move to AB and get insurance, it will be higher because i havent existed in their system.

welcome to insurance, deal with it.

Just a quick update: I've just received an email stating that the whole thing failed. Company won't employ me coz they are out of money or something like that, still don't know anything. I guess it's back to the job hunting again starting tomorrow. Sleep awaiting for me now.

Hello everyone, it's been a while now. Merry Xmas and happy new year!
Now, i've found myself an employer in Canada but i am very confused :biggrin_2556: first off, i'm having some trouble understanding his English. But that's ok, i'm finding ways for it. Now, he says his company is working for Plains, and he wants to hire me BUT when i mentioned i need a LMO, he said he needs to ask someone at the Plains. So.. can someone explain this to me please? Coz the way i understood it, Plains have no trucks of their own and they hire companies do drive for them? Or did i get that wrong? Any help appreciated, thank you!

Guys i'd really appreciate some help with this, i guess it's not a hard question? Also, if i have a licence plates number, how can i check who is the truck registered to? Is there a way?

I don't know about Plains and their trucks BUT getting an LMO is quite a process. Sounds like this guy wants Plains to apply for the foreign worker permits so he can hire you.

Try Manitoulin. They're always hunting up international drivers.

    Stefan Thanks this.

Thanks, I'll contact them and see what happens :) I'm not sure how things work with Plains but he says that their head dispatch or someone controls everything from trucks they drive to drivers they hire even tho they are not employed with Plains directly. Just wanted to check this information. Hope someone can confirm that.
