I'm going to be a Pal here and help you out ma man; my last duty in the militiary was discharging folks... One you did 4 years honorably period you get all your benifits. You just have to note that and appeal too the VA. They can't deny you because you resigned up. Unless you signed up for more then 4 years too start. That contract was completed honorably if that is the case. Just note it in your appeal. You will get your GI bill money.
2 Don't mention anything about the #### Other Then Honorable Discharge to anyone; unless your going for a Government Job; they will be the only people who can access it.
3 OTH's are administrative separations ie you pissed someone off and they got your ### out; or you pop on a whiz test... Either way appeal to get it raised; you have a 40/60 if you just fill out the paperwork yourself and 70/30 with a lawyer doing it hehe; part of the money goes to the people hearing your case in fund raising donations.
4: Famous People with Dishonorable Discharges... Walt Disney Comes to Mind; and there are over 1million Americans with OTH's in the country and 10% work for the Government. If your going private sector just don't mention it; and if you completed your 4 year contract with the Honorable... Key word IF then put that down because its true. Just fail to mention the other contract you didn't complete lol.... There are many at least 300 I have personally discharged in that similar situation you are and that is the advice I gave to each one of them.
#### happens ma man; look at the congress we got.... Just highlight your good spots and work hard and keep your nose clean on the chances given in life. GL Ohh also its who you know and I'm someone in this field to get to Know

I was going to ets and not re-inlist again anyway, so they made me sign a bar to reenlistment just to make it permanant. Then I get a recruiter packet. Had to go back to personel to remind them I had already signed a Bar.
-
If you signed a bar it was most likely from an Article 15/ Captains mast etc. At least it wasn,t bad enough to give you a dishonorable

If anyone is thinking about hauling crude oil for Gold Spur out of Seguin.... You may want to save yourself time and a big headache and do not work for them! They treat their drivers like crap. The trucks and trailers very rarely get serviced and they will blame the drivers when they breakdown. The benefits are a joke. More than likely you will be driving a truck with no A/C. If you complain or make suggestions they will fire you. In the few months that I worked for Gold Spur I saw at least half of the drivers either leave or get fired. Trust me....find a better company to work for than Gold Spur!!
-
Wow! I use to see a lot of their trucks out at the Port of Victoria but not so many anymore. I hear they are trying to hire people in West Texas too.
-
Yes, Gold Spur recently started hauling crude in West Texas also. They are always hiring because their turnover rate is so high. If you look at Craigslist, you will see that they post an ad for drivers every single day. This is to replace all the drivers that quit or get fired. The West Texas operation is managed by the same punk that manages the Seguin terminal. I've never seen such a poorly run company in my life.

Any o/o on here hauling water in Texas right give me a little current info? I heard before going rate was around $100-$125/hr for a truck. Now I'm hearing its down to around $65-90/hr. Which I can believe in the great pumpkin is driving the market down. If i can have an update to current rates it'd be appreciated as I have a truck I'd like to send down there to work. Also what company are you as an o/o working for? The info I got for $90/hr came from a company out of south Texas around cuero. Any info would be appreciated. The oilfield in pa is okay but if I can make more in Texas (as its busier) I'd like to put my truck to work making the most possible. As we all would. Thanks all for any info you can give.
