Life at American Central Transport (ACT)

Just posting on here putting out a feeler, I have 21 years accident free driving and live just south of Nashville on I 24 at the foot of Monteagle, it seems like a good area for you guys, Did a lease purchase through Dart for 6 years and paid off 2 trucks. Been back company driving a few years and haven't been happy since. Seems like everyone does well over here. Was wondering if I am in their hiring area?

 

you should be. I went thru orientation with a guy from murfreesboro.

 

I know exactly how you feel, Tennessee. I am always thinking like an owner when I'm stuck in w company driver job. ACT has been the best move I've made, hands down!

 

I went thru Nashville 4 or 5 times in the past two weeks... So you should be good to go.

 

You should be good. I live in Tennessee as well, Paris. You being right off 24 should be in their hiring area.

 

Got a call from my recruiter today, asked of I wanted either a 09 or 10. I picked a blue 2010 as it had the lowest miles on it. Had a choice of 3 blue 2010's or a black or blue 2009. Both 09's had over 450,000 miles on them. I'm hoping the one I picked is in good shape. He said we get a chance to look at it before I sign on.

 

I know ACT used to do allot of stuff @ the Goodyear plant in Unioncity . I know they closed the plant but it's been in the News that's it's reopening by a non- union tire company that makes tractor tires or something like that . Any word if ACT is gonna be back in UC ten with tires again ?

 

not that ive heard i havnt been there in nine months
