Just wondering how do Averitt road drivers make their money. Is it by milage pay or is it by stop off pay? I believe that $1080 a week gross is fair for 3,000 miles, I don't believe it is good when you factor in all the sacrifices the driver has to make to earn that pay check. Averrit is hiring for a dedicated account in my area and am interested in them. I am not trying to basxh Averrit but just trying to make an informed decision. Thank you for any replys you may make.

Stop off's are okay but they won't make a living. It is nice to get them when I am on a Tuesday Morning or Cintas load but I would prefer to just drive my miles and not make the stops. Just personal preference.
I have loved my experience with Averitt. The people I talk to who are on dedicated like the stability of miles, familiarity of routes and customers, etc. My favorite thing about it is the company service centers. Hassle free fueling, clean showers, better than average shops, work out facilities in some, truck washes in many. Plus with I was with the starter company I worked for I got talked to like I was sub-human. I get treated with great respect by everyone I come in contact with at Averitt. Home each weekend is a big plus as well.
I hope you talk to some other drivers and feel the place out to see if it's a good fit for you. -
My run is 2297 miles per week. I am on my third year on the run and hope to have many more. Less money than most runs but I'm at the stage of my life where it's plenty. All my toys are paid for and have 15% going into 401k. The benefits and the 3 days and 4 nights home per week are the most important things to me.GySgt Thanks this. -
Do they have Team, wife and I have had enough fun in the oilfields.Time to hit the road again.

Hey Mustang and Mike thank you for the quick responses to my questions. 2011 and the early part of this year was hard for me. I have to clean up my work history. I am doing a FEDEX run to Memphis from Savannah twice a week for an owner operator. He pays me well for the work performed, but no benefits. The medical coverage is no big deal right now ( that could change with the new Obam care tax being) due to the fact I am retired military. How ever I would like to have a 401K plan. I am pretty happy working for the OO right now and hope to be able to stay here for 3 years to clean up my work record. The good news I have time to research companies. Did alot of job hopping last year.
How serious are they about tattoes ? I have 2 on my forarms and can be seen in a short sleeve shirt. Would be willing to wear a long sleeve shirt if thats what it would take. I am extremely clean cut. -
