Hey guys and gals, just got my licenselsat week and thinking about going to Roehl. Anybody know anything thing about this company and if their good? It seems that they pay alright but i heard u have to pay for your own stuff (speedy pass and they don't have APU's). If someone out their drive's for them and reads this please give me a little help out about what they have and what they don't have. Looking to go into the flatbed unit. thanks

Idk know much I am just about to finish orientation and move to phase 2 but we were told we are allowed to idle if temps above 70. U pay like a few bucks for the pass but I will tell the orientation is great and the stuff u learn is probably the best . I say go for it. I don't regret it to this point

If your truck doesn't have an apu it will have the no idle battery pack HVAC system. If it has neither (which isn't likely) you can idle.

Im also going to roehl on July 2nd, I gathered all my info on choosing them right here from the site, and also talking a good bit to Drty diesel(thanks man). I dont think you will go wrong going with them per all the reading I been doing on here.....Good luck on whatever choice you make

I have been with Roehl a couple of months now. They are a really good company and have been very easy to work with since the start. I had some issues with my trainer and they accommodated me. I switched from Flatbed to Van and they accommodated me. Pretty much everyone in the office and in the training have been a pleasure to work with. You certainly can't go wrong with their "time to truck". One week of orientation, about one to two weeks with the over the road trainer and then they test you and give you your truck and throw you out of the nest. But they do hold your hand about another six weeks with a special fleet manager trained to help rookies. Of all the companies that came to my school, they were by far the most impressive. People I talked to and things I read about them on this site and elsewhere led me to believe they are a good, family owned company focused on safety, but also on their drivers. Good luck in your choice, but I think Roehl is a step in the right direction.
Rick_C Thanks this. -
Just ribbin' you. -
Treefork ah LOL ^ I've come to tolerate your comments on us van drivers. Use to bother me now I just laugh. We need more flatbed drivers so I see no more skateboarders pulling a van load. More for me. Glad I'm not qualified to pull a flatbed to get to a freight lane for a load for van.
