Carry a good penetrating oil (PB Blaster, NAPA, Breaker) to free seized pins. That or just good old water. Nothing worse than trying to repair the damage some goober has caused to the locking pins because of those #### hammers. Those pins your complaining broke away are most likely caused by the actions your suggesting. If you must beat on things use a rubber mallet to prevent mushrooming of the pins you want to beat into submission.
They make several devices for keeping tension on release bars or just ask around if you need help. The vice grips are a good idea for your regular simple tool kit.Last edited: Jun 21, 2012

i was gonna say, if you that much problem's with a resort too beating the pin's , that a big no no, what you should've done is once empty, get the water and a spray bottle and just move the the trailer back and forth, spraying with water as you do so,and not once you get loaded heavy, then it's too heavy too move .

Maybe bring a couple rolls of toilet paper and a can of Lysol, you definitely want to make sure you disinfect the throne before you sit on it lol

Drive for a week or two and keep a list of things you DO NOT have and wish you did. Forget all this stocking up before you go stuff, I did the same and ended up throwing out a bunch of stuff I never used. Water however is the one must have.
