I was looking at the JB Hunt dedicated in Va, I am with in the millage of Stuarts Draft, and Charlottesville. I was wounding if any one knew what the accounts were? I can guess that the Stuarts Draft is for Target. Also how is JB to work for? I know you have good and bad in every company. Are they on time with pay do they treat you as a person or just a number? Any and all info would be great! thanks

My husband currently works for them on the Stuarts Draft account. We were making pretty good money but the drivers just took what I would consider a substantial paycut. The office is saying they are going to try to give people more miles by giving them two loads per day, but I'm not really seeing how that is possible... esp. if they are still hiring. The past two weeks we have had pretty low paychecks/short trips... and pay has not even been cut yet. They are big on "safety" so you can expect to be written up on things like following distance and hard brakes. They always pay on time but I've heard of a few guys having to straighten things out on paychecks... never anything major. Overall I would say they are okay if you want to make $600-800/wk and don't mind putting up with all of the rules and constant safety reprimands. The closer you live to Stuarts Draft the better chance you have to get home more often and save money obviously.

I am on a DCS account out of texas, I started on the Home Depot account in missouri. I was on the HD account for 8 1/2 years then work started getting slow so I asked around for anything else. They had a DCS opening in utah , They put me on that account and helped me relocate to utah. I was there 8 months and they needed drivers in texas, So another driver and I came out to texas for a few weeks. I got sent back to utah and they asked if I wanted to relocate to texas. Thats where I am at now and they take real good care of me as I am the only driver on this account.

Pay is always on time, as with any company they can make a mistake but they correct it imediately. On the DCS account they recognize you as you, they use your number for road service but that isnt that bad. the driver managers are usually easy to deal with. I have had minor issues and they got fixed right away. I dont think I would go anywhere else.

thanks for all the info everyone. I am still debating on what I want to do and who I want to go with. Like I said before their is good and bad with all company's and it is what you make of it. All you hear is bad stuff from the big company's and never much good stuff, glad to hear from people that actually work for they or has a spouse that works for them to give info. Also do they get you home when asked to or do they leave you to dry? Thanks again.

they do get you home when asked, its true any company has god and bad sides. If you ask your manager for time off they will do everything they can to get you there, if you ask with enough time its always easier to get you home, if its an emergency they will get you there.

My husband generally makes it back to the distribution center after each load (except NJ) so he is able to come home most days. I'm sure the people in Stuarts Draft would work with you. They are pretty understanding. They have been one of the better companies my husband has worked for. My husband is on the Tue/Wed off schedule. Unless they're swamped, they usually give him a short load on Monday, just to make sure he gets his two full days. They are also very flexible when it comes to taking days off - as long as you do it in advance.

    ewill71 and cookie30 Thank this.

I m honest if the company does things wrong, no company is perfect, but alot of this JB hatred is BS. if the rookies want to know the truth they should talk to active drivers that have been around.
