Give truckers a break/A Letter

To be quite honest, a modern truck with factory mufflers on it won't make much sound difference when the jake is on, when heard from outside the truck.

It's the guys running unmuffled that create all the noise and fury.

Most of the towns I've seen with no-jake signs posted state "No Unmuffled Exhaust Brakes". But, I have been in a few that ban the use of jakes altogether.

I'm sure you've heard it before, just didn't realize it.

I figure I must have, I worked at a gas station with trucks coming and going all the time, for 7 years. But no one came running in and asked "Did you hear my Jake Break?" So I didn't have a clue.
