Question from a recovering addict...

Congrats I really hope you stick it out. I spent my entire younger life wasted on various things too and I can't express how much better and fulfilling life is without chemical dependency. All your accomplishments and choices mean so much more and give so much more back to a sober mind.
Enough of that.

Give it six months or so . I am sure that only you will know when you are in fact done with it forever and ever. Keep busy though and keep your mind occupied.

 

You think you're a drug addict and you basically smoked only MJ? Don't listen to these guys that will put you down. Weed is no big deal and it's easy to stop. It's not physically addictive. You just have to make up your mind to not smoke.

 

Congratulations on making it 30 days. Before you consider doing anything official, make it to 60 days. Then like others said, take the home test, wait another two weeks and take another. I have no idea of your physical condition, but many drug metabolites can lodge in fat cells. You would do yourself a favor by getting rid of said fat, and consequently said metabolites.

Making your sobriety your number one priority, and your health a close second will get you further down the road toward your dream. The hard "parts" are 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months and 3 years...for most addictive substances, including nicotine and alcohol. How MJ ranks on that is up to interpretation. Some say it isn't addictive, some are proof positive that it is. Take care, and good luck.

 

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet or not, but cheap urine test stripes are available on Amazon, and probably eBay. That is only half your battle though, you're going to have to make sure your hair sample can be clean, first. The standard is 3 months testing, so just to be safe, I would make sure you're 4-6 months clean before submitting any hair test - which most starting companies will require.

Pot is a fairly harmless drug, but the hardest to get "clean" from. It's also something you can partake in while driving, even on your off time, for obvious testing reasons. Trucking is, however, great motivation to keeping clean. Good job on the 30 days, and here's to the next year or 20 of staying off the stuff.

Pot!!!???

If all u have been doing is smoking pot then give yourself 30 days and then start filling out apps. Pot is not an addictive substance and therd are very minut side effects,if any when you quit. Maybe a little sleeplessness.

Your only obstacle will be if the do a hair follicle test. I do not know how long it takes to be able to pass that test. Till your hair falls out I guess

 

Alot of companies are doing Hair Folicle testing now, which can go back YEARS. Most companies do not pay to go back that far most are 3-6 months. Schools will also have to test you so my advice is wait AT LEAST 6 months, then go to school. Remember you only get 1 shot, you fail 1 single test and your done.

Plus don't forget the medical questionnaire on the DOT physical paperwork. I know there is a question about drug use, but I can't recall how it is worded.
