I'm not trying to rag on you but your #'s aren't right.BlackLion's and Marine both have valid point's.I was at Thermo king 2 month's ago and they quoted me 11,000 for the set up I have installed on my truck. When a company or individual buy's a new truck there is also the fed excise tax which runs between 15-20k depending on price. The truck you're pricing is base model pricing.(Alum wheels, gauge pkg's,etc.not incl.) There are so many different options you add,it's mind boggling. These 2010 kw t660's equiped the way they are are selling used right now around 90-95k on the open market depending on miles.I bought a coke a little while ago and I'm certain the store, and coca cola made some money off me.I bought one the other night with jack added as a option and they made alot more off me.Does ACT make some money off of me by leasing me a truck?Of course they do,it's a buisness. They just have the fairest deal I could find.
If you have a degree in finance(again I'm not trying to be a butt)then obviously the best thing is to go to a dealer and buy your own truck, get a low intrest rate, and go lease on to whoever you want. Why mess around leasing at all? I do it because I can't qualify for a loan that size with no money down. And as far as you getting the deduction on depreciation for taxes, forget it,The leasing co. get's that.I'm a simple man and got my degree from the school of hard knock's.All I care about is what I'm making after trk pmt, fuel, other expenses. You know"The Bottom Line" 34 driver's at ACT paid off they're trucks in 2011,that's over 10% of the fleet. That's a very high success rate and does not even exclude all the company driver's.

Has anyone been having trouble with the touch screen on the quailcomm?? Ive been fighting with mine for 3 weeks now and the last time I was at the yard I couldnt get anyone to look at it because it working alright then,(figures) but next time Im going straight to Mike. He said if I let him know Im there he would get someone to look at it. Sometimes I cant access messages, HOS, and etc..... and it used to be every other day and now its every day and several times a day. I tired of going from elog to paper elog to paper its getting old. I feel like just tossing the D*** thing out the window. Let me know if anyone has been having trouble with yours.

Haven't had a problem at act but had that issue at schneider, at one point half of the screen just didn't work and the other was fine - they just reloaded the software.
-
Ive called mike and he will reboot it and sometimes it works and sometimes it dont but its very aggravating to say the least. I need to be getting to KC for a PM anyway. Im hoping what ever the problem is....that it gets fixed. I perform my duties without any problems and I expect the equipment to do the same.

Gonna get some things under control at home first. My wife just started at Nissan Plant this week full time, so once she gets settled I think I'm all in! WTH worst things could happen LOL

Business Cost Control 101, LSU University states "It is financially benefical for any business to lease equipment as opposed to buying, due to the signifigant tax savings" thats why trucking companies lease or pay cash for their trucks, form a leasing company and lease them back to the company. My numbers were just base numbers to prove in the end the financial benefits of leasing. I too do not have a big down payment. ANd I think you misunderstood my post, you can only claim depreciation if you financed the truck.I am all about leasing, Did it at Dart paid 2 off in 6 years.

From what I have heard , if you can do it at DART you can do it anywhere . I heard Highway sales was a rip off and DART miles were bad .. Just what I've heard
