    What is the name if the tool (computer) i can buy to plug into to my truck to read the check eng lights, codes, and change settings on the ECU (disable the idle shutdown)?

    Have you tried bumping the cruise on while parked? In some trucks it will override the shutdown.

    It depends on VECU and EECU software. With dev2tool it is easy to change

    Do you happen to have or know where I can get a wiring schematic for it I want to check the wiring harness out

    for what truck? Volvos are different, really there are four basic schematics.

    1. Old European Volvo F series (mechanical injection)
    2. Late F series with EDC
    3. '93-97 Schematics (early FH, FM, Volvo-GMC trucks).
    4. '98-2003 trucks (FH, FM, FL, VN, VM, VHD)
    5. Version-II cabovers and conventionals. From 2003 to current models
