E Logs make these lawyers have to figure out another way to rip off trucking companies. You can get 3,000 a week easy if your company is planning trips right, but unfortunately most don't. People were in a hurry b4 E Logs. People were having accidents b4 E logs. If you are going to change something don't blame the E Logs, blame the crazy hours of service rules. We are suppose to make it do what it do. Sometimes you can. Sometime you can't. Makes trucking more fun. Keep throwing monkey wrenches in. A super trucker will survive. Yeeeeee hawww

It has nothing to do with fear of change. Not every driver likes to spoon with e-logs, as you do. My average length of haul is 1800 out, and 1800 back. You still cannot justify e-logs. Do you run WY or anywhere out west? Too many variables hinder the justification and/ or validation of e-logs.

Unless you have trucked without electronic surveillance on your truck, and paper logs (only 1 book mind you), any of your opinions regarding logging, are fraudulent, at best. You are a clone, as well as a spokesperson for Big Brother, and Big Companies.

I run all over with E logs, and had run all over without E logs. I am just less stressed now, and not pushed to take one for the team. Not having to worry about if some clown runs into the back of me, and when they check my last 3 months they don't see that I couldn't match up my fuel stops and I don't end up going to the slammer. Falsifying logs is illegal. Just as drinking a cold brew is b4 you hit the road. So guess what big tymer. If you have 1800 mile trips or 2000 mile trips you are to obey the law like everybody else. But do what you do country boy. Just watch ya back, because if you get into an accident. Your company will throw you under the bus so fast. You wouldn't know what happen.

I've ran plenty without elogs and would never switch back. Elogs force the carrier to get their crap straight on appt scheduling and planning. They can't milk a load till the last minute then call you and ask for a favor. Now they have no choice. My efficiency is 100% better in a few ways...

    Mileage
    Sleep
    LEGAL!!!!

think of this... You do what you consider harmless extra driving, because you'll be ###### if a computer tells you bedtime , get clipped by a stupid drunk, it's your fault regardless. Your HOS says you shouldnt have been their. Now your a criminal... Was it all worth it?

Also, the comment you made regarding drivers parked on side of road and off ramps because of elogs... That's just sheer stupidity. You either fall short due to poor planning or unforseen delays (construction, unsafe weather conditions, accidents, etc....), in which case, the law allows you to drive to nearest safe haven. Last time I checked, it was not a off ramp or any roadside.

Just because I run high miles, does not mean I run a dirty book. Even a newbie knows that fuel stops, as well as tolls have to match. Everyone knows that falsifying logs is illegal. It is not a question of obeying the law. You believe that a driver cannot turn high miles legally on paper. Oh well. Maybe you were on line 4 of your e-log when you sent the last post.

That's absolutely redundant. If you truly run 100% legal, then elogs won't make a difference in your life. Instead of writing it down, you punch a few buttons and voila. You will probably save time considering the one I use counts down to the minute, not 15 minute blocks.

Why would I run illegally? You have been labotomized into believing a driver cannot run legally on paper. You do not have enough constitution to run paper, and do it properly. You have to be told what to do. Do you do straight drop and hook? Do you do live loads, and live unloads? How fast is your truck? If you are not doing all drop and hook, you are not getting the miles you claim you are getting.
