Watch out for recruiters that sound like salesmen. I know that they paid for filling trucks, but some i've talked to come off like car salesman. If they have to sell you the job it probably means that are many who don't want it. I may be wrong.

Hello group. I am a new guy and want to hier in with a company I can work for for a long time. I am 56 years old live in Tampa, Florida and drove a Mixer truck for three years and loved it. I hope to make more money in OTR because the construction industry here is in the crapper. Who shold I work for that will hire a new driver? I will finish Roadmaster driving school on Nov 9th.

We are all so jumpy when it comes to sales, we forget we live in a capitalist world based on sales. Without the world of capitalism all we have is Communism and Socialism.
The question(s) are:
Is this the right school for me?
Will this school place me where I will me more apt to be successful?
Should I pick another school?
I know I have to either pay for school by cash, credit, or by fulfilling a work obligation, so:
Will I be happy with the company(s) who hire from this school?
It really amazes me when someone looks like they are selling something, RED Flags go up. Is this ignorance or is it something else we don't want to talk about?
Just asking -

well i still feel an uneasyness about it. but im going to try to go to the school on this sunday and to start this monday. although with winter coming and no heat they tell me im opnly going to home during the weekends. and the job after the school training is over the road.
im wondering if there's any company that will train you on the job. im wiling to learn just not neglect home. i can't pay anything to go to a make any time to do stuff on weekends. cause that's when most businesses and stuff are closed. they tell "no you'll be over the road" im like what? only on home at wweekends. i ask them how far am i traveling?
"well that depends on you" if it depends on me then why am i over the road then? i didn't say that but should have.
i would have wanted to work for a company like roehl which at least you can start out maybe going 7/4 7/3 days run they offer.
i mean whats the point of making money if you don't have the time to even use it? lol i feel forced by everyone who says go for it. and while i know the money that's driiving them to say so, it's not that it's the fact of my kids and familyt being cold while im gone.
it's wondering if thwey have somthing to eat if the house will go into foreclosure.
if this was the right thing would i feel a peace about it though? -
