I looked at my 348 and I have everything but tractor trailer lol , go me ! , but I def drove one in IQ ... Im really looking at TMC , not to sure yet, kind of unclear on the pay scales with the percentage if its better then mileage i hear a lot of different things, so just weighing my options. Just need to take advantage of my GI Bill anywhere i go .

Hey brother,
You can try Roehl out of Wisconsin, stay away from the small gepo companies. Flatbed work, like the military is not for everyone, it requires creative thinking at times as well as being safety minded. If you get on line and do your research about companies with training it will be worth your time. And keep in mind, big companies like Prime and Swift will try to rip you off, anyone who has done FB work knows this....GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU... -
And yet this post and your 2 following it are both off subject...

lets just all agree we suck at staying on topic lol
other wise this would be work if it was all the same stuff, have to mix it up i guess

Where are you located? Anywhere around ft Stewart? I just separated 3 weeks ago. Still live in the area. I have lots of info. Too much to type on a phone. Anyways. If you have any specific questions pm me your number and we can talk. I tried to go with TMC first but their dr didn't like an injury I had from 10 years ago. After being on the road I have learned a few tho ga about them ssome good some bad. Anyways good luck

Really now? Most of those "ripped off" created their own problems and come online to whine about it.
Swift is not a bad place to get a start, and I can tell you I'm in NC weekly. That said, we also don't have much in the way of variety of loads (I pretty much haul exclusively steel coils, steel beams, and parts for Caterpillar - we do have others types, but you get in a lane and it seems you stick into it), so that can make learning easier, but having enough experience to go elsewhere later on somewhat difficult. Living in the southeast you will have a lot of different companies to choose from. Roehl as suggested was good to me, and at the time I worked for them they really knew how to keep a truck dispatched. That said, it was also around 7 years ago and at that time I was still a door slammer
At Swift we also run a good deal out of Weyerhauser in High Point, NC as well as the CAT deliveries from Laredo to Sanford and Clayton, NC.
CAXPT Thanks this. -
You could try going with Swift Flatbed. They have a terminal in Greer, SC and also Gary,IN and Phoenix,AZ and Laredo, TX.
Since they are a training company, it might be a good place for you to start. You will work for lower than other places, but they get you the miles, they get you the training and if you don't even have a CDL, you're going to have a tough time of it.
Their flatbed training is good, but just make sure you learn to inspect the trailers properly.....that is a problem area for them.
And you will get a work out, they tarp everything. -
Thanks for all the help gents!!!!
