Now working on the a/c system on my '05 w900. Low side reads 25 on guages which is low from all the reading I have done. High side is reading from 225-350 which is to high from all the reading I have done. My temps from the vents are reading from 55-60. So what would cause the low reading on the low side and high reading on the high side...I thought it was either the high side was off or the low side...not both at the same time?

Air in system causes both to go up. Air as in contaminents. Thing is, your suction is normal for idle with no air blowing through condensor and pressure is high. There are many other factors we need. Outside ambient temp. Idle at low or high idle? Engine temp at normal operating temp? Best to do is pull under shade or into large shop. Put fan in front of engine and have it blow in. Engine at 180 degrees. Set engine at high idle with a/c on max. If both gauges high still, you have contaminants in system or pressure overcharge. If low is normal, but high is high, you have a blockage in condensor or txv is bad/plugged (if high and bouncing). If high is normal, but low is high, possible under charge. These are only basics to it. There is so much more to a/c work.

Suggestion, find a tech school that has auto or diesel program. Most will diagnose for free just to give students hands on to a real problem. This is the time of year they study a/c because the outside temps are ideal for their training.

with really high side pressure and kinda low side pressure sounds like a partially clogged condensor, but a blocked orifice tube will also cause this

Kw dosent use an orfice tube but your on The right track nwmaxi possible malfunction of the expansion valve its on the firewall where the a/c lines pass through the firewall to the rhapsody.also if you have had the freon pulled out a couple times or are starting to have a compressor fail then the dryer can be getting pluged or if you have had someone charge thw a/c and filled it full of oil thinking it needed it.u would change the expansion valve replace the dryer make sure the condensor and the evaporate are clean and not plugged then vac it down for a minimum of an hour the longer the better here charge it and see how she works
