Pls tell me how politics came to be about a person speeding??? That is just about the most ridiculous thing I have heard yet come out of a republican's mouth, Yet they are always trying to blame a democrate for something.

ok, so if we let the 4wheelers speed and the cops are using radar which is not precise then he can nail us truckers when u go by us b/c it will show ur speed... now what makes it right for the 4wheelers to speed and us not to? b/c ya'll are lighter and smaller? bs ya'll can cause just as much damage as us truckers when ur on a bridge and speeding. sorry if i come off as an ### or whatever u wanna call me but i don't think it is right that they are so strict on the truckers and not that strict on the 4wheelers. what is good for one is good for the other. if we get tickets for goin over then so should they. but this is just my opinion -
Sorry to tell you, but radar is extremely precise. Laser radar, which pin-points the vehicle directly by the officer sighting on the vehicle with a red dot is very selective; standard analog radar such as the K55 and KR-10, always clocks: the first, the fastest, and the largest. If you are traveling 55 in a big truck, and a car comming up behind you is doing 80, the radar will clock you at 55 with a low frequency audible tone. As the car passes doing 80, the tone begins to crackle and change to higher pitch and suddenly 80 appears as the car passes you. The officer clocking, easily determines at that point that you were not going 80, because the car is passing you at a higher rate of speed. If 2 big tucks are side by side at the time of the clock, and one is doing 60, the other doing 75, the radar will show 75 and the officer visually can see which truck is speeding by seeing the 75 mph truck passing. Radar for a trained officer is a peice of cake and very easy to use. However, the officer usually has to make the determination by visual, when more than one vehicle is in range. If he can't honestly determine the vehicle, he's generally not going to make the stop. But it will not clock a speeding car and mistake it for a big truck. That's not how it works. If you get stopped for doing 60, when a car passes you at 80, the officer screwed up or is untrained. If you are about 100 yards ahead of anyone else, or topping a hill or bridge crest with no one beside you, it's almost fool proof. If by chance you go to court on a speeding ticket, always ask to see the officers personal radar certificate of training and testing sheet to make sure he tested the radar before using it.

my bad i thought it was more quirky than that. i knew laser was precise but dindt' know that was how analog worked.

I think you took that COMMENT WRONG. I was saying let them 4 wheelers speed on by you! You in return can laugh # them for getting busted down the road as you pass.
I don't believe ANY of us 4 wheeler or trucker should speed, the point is we all do it and some have common sense about it and others do not!
I laugh at the guy who tailed my butt to speed up (when I couldn't because a car is in front of me) and he gets busted.
NO DRIVER (4 WHEELER OR TRUCKER) should SPEED!
Yeah you took it all wrong and no hard feelings, heck maybe I worded it wrong I am good at that

I will add a funny that I didn't have access to tell you about a few weeks ago! On 70 construction a few weeks ago a cop had radared a car speeding in the 45 mile hour zone and there was those concret barriers, well he wanted to be bad cop and jump on the barrier and wave the car over, well he slipped (didn't fall) and cused himself and jumped up again and well he had an attitude FOR SURE when he told that car to pull over. l.o.l. I laughed my butt off. It was rush hour traffic when he did it
. I wish I had a video camera on him. Darn it would have won! I just feel for the car who got that attitude.
Oh tonight they had 4 trucks pulled over # 1 time. IT'S almost over, wonder where the money is going. -
I never speed on that bridge. The helicopters that fly over and look for speeders are too intimidating.
-
What a bunch of nonsense. The trucks get SCREWED, and the 4 wheelers get away with murder. I tell ya there is no justice. -
So your saying the last ticket I got for 10 over when I was doing the speed limit and another truck had just passed me doing an easy 10 over, you're saying the cop was either stupid or untrained????
I'm going to go with stupid considering his other actions and responses to me. -
For all practical purposes, if everything happened the way you said it did, then he screwed up. It's as easy as observing moving vehicles; one going faster than the other. This is one reason you see a Police car, usually facing toward you in the median. Or if he's on the shoulder, he usually has the gun in his hand. If he has a rear mounted gun, he generally has to wait for single vehicles to be sure, unless he can absolutely tell by watching his mirror, (which I was trained not to do). As I said, my Instructor told me if I was not absolutely sure, don't make the stop. It's better to let one go, than falsely accuse one of doing something he didn't do. I mean, what the heck..... the money wasn't going to me, I didn't have a quota (that is illegal). I would sit in a 60 mph zone and start writing them at 80 mph. I could do it all day. In a 70 mph, I would start writing at 85. No problem, like taking candy from a baby. But as I said before in another post, I wrote ONE ticket to a trucker, in a wreck, and he earned it by being a total *sshole. I even tried not to do it, but he wouldn't leave well enough alone. I've never seen anyone with such a stupid attitude at an accident. He made me write him a ticket.
On the other hand, four wheelers were the primary target, because I never saw truckers driving like idiots. Sure there may be a few, but I never had the situation on my beat.
