Ok i know many people ask silly questions on here and i am going to be one of them , I have done so much research on both companies, Roehl and TMC . I am going to be entering the field here in about a year after i separate from the military, and i really cant make up my mind . I know TMC is very structured and strict , which i might like since that is really all i know . Both company run in my area of NC. I just don't know, and i would hate to pick the wrong one. I am very excited about starting my new career in flat-bedding. I would love any advise from current or past drivers of the company. Thanks!!!

I would have to agree. The pay is better and the equipment is nicer. From what I understand they have one of the best fleets. I'm actually going to work for Roehl on Monday. I plan on doing a year with them then maybe sliding over to TMC. I'm going to start a thread on Roehl and how everything goes from student to driver. I'll probably start it on Sunday.

Ok I will have to follow it

On tmc I heard you can't do anything to your truck at all, and mfrom what it sounds like I don't know if you can even bring your Truck home, anyone know for sure, I also heard tmc is very selective as well

What area do you reside in??? That will help determining if you can take your truck home. And taking your truck home has many different versions.... some think taking the truck home means parking it at a local truckstop, which I do not agree with at all, especially if it is loaded. You need to realize that theft is up quite a bit and sometimes you will have over $250,000 worth of cargo on. Quite a tempting treat to a theif who knows you are nowhere near the truck.

I say if you can park the truck at your HOME, outside your door then it would not be an issue. TMC has a lot of approved parking area's as well.

Hsauer, yes from what I hear they are very selective. I hear applicants who try to get on with TMC, have to look the part and meet a certain criteria. This is one of the reasons why I'm going to Roehl first.:biggrin_25525:

Jake, yes I am also going to attend orientation at Gary, IN. I live in the lower part of AL, kinda near Pensacola, FL. I will be flying in on Sunday. Are you going for the F/B devision? Thats what I'm going there for. Hope to see you there!:biggrin_2554:

You will be happy you drove because there is not any restruants near the hotel they put you at. Will be nice being able to drive to where you want. I can tell you of a few places closer to eat but mainly everything is south of I94 by exit2 (Indianapolis Blvd.)

    Kash6972 Thanks this.
