You weren't kidding! Somebody (although it was after 4pm which is when I was told by my DM that all the planners are gone at 4 so not sure if someone was working late or who sent it but I'm grateful), sent me a nice dispatch heading out east for a 2k run.

Okay. Well I haven't posted in a few days because I was hoping the bad luck would quit and I'd be able to report that I was enjoying the 48 plunge.... Needless to say so for I'm thinking I am going to have them put me back on the Western 11.
Long story short, the nice 2k load I got ended up being taken away after I sat in the Auburn yard for a day waiting on a reefer to get fixed only to have another May driver dispatched to come pick up that VERY trailer I had been sitting in the yard waiting on. So then since I didn't have a reefer to drop at the shipper they took the 2k load off me. Next, I then dead head back to Jubitz to sit for another day and then be loaded the following day to head towards NJ, NICE I thought! Its almost a 3k! Well, apparently this one was scheduled too tight, and after having to have tires changed and a forced regen on my truck done at Layton, I ended up being about 2 hours shy of making it ontime so I swapped with another driver and took one heading back to Illinois. Now, even though that was a good run, I had to run so long each day I then had to do a 34 reset. No big deal, it happens.. And now that my 34 is done, I finally get a dispatch to be loaded tomorrow at 7pm about 2 hrs north, (so now ny 34 reset has turned into a 43 reset), and that run is just a hair over 400 miles and doesn't deliver until Monday morning.
So far, my conclusions, with my luck anyways, seem to be the same out on the 48 as on the 11. Granted yes I'll get a load that's enough miles for the week. However, it takes almost a full week to do it, then I end up having to do a 34 reset. At least on the Western 11 I was able to run my clock so I was able to recoup enough hours to not have to do a reset. As an example, my last time out I was gone for 8 weeks, and only had to do one 34 reset and even though I had to sit, my miles were still up there. Granted I'm only 2 weeks into the 48 side, and it took them a week to get me out of Wa and actually headed east, so I'm not completely convinced yet but right now, the 11 side may have more stops, but at least I can keep rollin. And from what I hear the freight on the 11 side is kickin right now. And after looking at my miles, so far my first two weeks of 48 has given me less miles per week than my previous 2 months on the 11... -
However, I will say one good thing about the 48, is back here out East the thunder & lightning storms are impressive! I forgot how much I enjoyed a good thunderstorm.
With that being said, I didn't miss the humidity,, -
As far as freight being good on 11 or 48 .. that changes week to week ... Its the industry, not May Trucking ...
