Does the company you are leasing to pay the same amount for the plates as you would if you are both located in the same state? Also if you pay a weekly fee for the plate to the company I understand that it is their plate so what if you stay there a year and come time for renewel you go buy your own can you do that with no headache from the company you lease to will they have a problem with it? I know ask them right , I'm just wondering what you may think their responce would be. Also they have a fuel program that I would rather not use but when I tried to talk to someone about it they said I had to use there's or so they thought because my fuel stops were intergrated in the qualcom system and was used to match my logs along with the fuel card. Does that make sense. I would think since I pay for the fuel I could used any card I wanted guess not

You can get your own plates anytime. Look at your contract to see if they will let you return yours. My carrier has me sign an agreement that says I will keep them all year so I would have to opt out at the end of the year. They can not require you to use their fuel cards. They want you to use theirs so they get the rebates. I would get your own card and negtoiate your own discounts. I am doing quite well with just one or 2 phone calls getting my own discounts. I would see what fuel discounts your company offers, they may pass on the same discounts. If not and they wont let you use your own card.....then go somewhere else.

A plate is simple and easy to get. The cost is the same whether you get it yourself or the company does. If the company is honest anyways - some of them might tack on extra charges for providing you with a tag. If you're going to pay the company weekly you might as well bite the bullet right from the start and get it yourself.
