Ok. Sitting in my truck waiting to see when I'm going to turn my truck in. Turning it at Gary. (fm said so)

I'll be hiring on with a small local company (20 trucks). Going to be working M-F, no weekends, and sleeping next to my wife every night. Will be pulling flats (yeah baby!) or I can pull vans if I want, but they said they can keep me busy on flats if I really want to pull them (though they were surprised at my irrational love of flats, lol) (they only have 2 or 3 flat trailers). Will be driving a Volvo 10 speed, governed at 67mph. (slight speed bump anyway) newer truck, not sure the year, but it's in good shape.

So that's what I've got for now. :)

The wife & I are cleaning out my truck in a day or two. Putting my notice in Friday. So tired of Roehl. I've tried to make it work. If it isn't one thing it's another. Last 3 out of 4 weeks I couldn't even get 2000 miles a week. WTF kind of planning is that? Never late with my deliveries, get good fuel economy, even got a snazzy jacket with the patches that say so :)...would have preferred cash...I manage my clock to be available everyday, but with the miles recently, who couldn't...allow the micro managing and follow their route though sometimes it isn't the best, put up with the BS weekenders put on you with little professionalism or respect to boot...did I mention I was tired?

I can put up with a little more BS if I'm getting paid. Who though is happy being away from the wife drawing 400 or so a week & still having to support yourself out on the road? Wages like that have me eating beans, chicken, tuna out of a can and cereal in the mornings. This living like a dog life isn't cut out for me.

I don't have a job lined up yet. I do have apps in and approved for hire, I just haven't pulled the trigger as I'm afraid I'll be jumping from one pile of crap into another....Lord help me.

Were you pulling van or reefer?

When I switched to flatbed I haven't seen less than 2200 miles/week. Sorry for your luck bro. I'm waiting for my year to be up. The next place pays a heck of a lot more, more miles, hardly any tarping, but I gotta have a year of experience and be 22 years old.
