Flat is a much different animal.
    1. Flatbed you are normally home most weekends.
    2. Flatbed is more physical work (so you get more exercise)
    3. Flatbed drivers, epically steel haulers, are more respected. Especially at shippers and receivers.
    4. Flatbed you do not go to grocery warehouses. Which are by and large crap holes. Where they workers hate themselves, their lives, and drivers even more. So they take this out on any driver they meet. Can you tell I hate grocery warehouses? lol
    5. Flatbed you normally pick up and deliver during normal business hours, meaning 0600-1800.
    6. Flatbed typically pays more per mile. But miles are more limited. And typically have shorter length of haul.

    Cromedome,
I agree that is what I am used to when I drove for flat bed company. When I left I was sitting almost three days at truck stop per week. This is why I chose refrigerated this time.

Seems the answer is no, they will not force you to lease. But the will bug you about leasing every week.

Sounds like every other company haha. Pushing leases makes them more money than owning the truck and having employees.

They didn't bug me every week. I never heard from them on my low weeks. Actually, I never pressured. I just learned to delete the message and move on.
