Oh boy, you know that's what I'm soooooooo looking forward too....maybe that's why their keeping me away from home! lol I know communication is the key towards a DM...but when I'm doing everything in the right....something is wrong on their end. Just wish I had food, 'cause we all know eating on the road IS unhealthy and expensive as h ell! lol And DM told me to stop by Wal-Mart and do some shopping...well, on e-logs, you don't have time for that! It's GO GO GO! I would almost, almost, at this point give my right nut to switch places with them, and do them the same way! muahhahahahaha

 

oh yeah, I understand, but when a DM goes on vacation(again?), and isn't letting other people know what the deal is on their board, it really messes things up! Hey, we ALL do our God I love that state...grew up there...why are they giving me good runs on little hours is beyond me, lol...but I love going back to my childhood home.....just missing little dude and wifey really bad...wish I could take them with me, tho but oh well...they give me a reason to live and work...ya know?

I just wanna say...I wanna run out to NEB. again...even though I know we don't...that is a BEAUTIFUL state to drive through!!!!! Well...so is Iowa, Idaho( yeah I'm da Hoe! lol), Wyoming, and all points out west! At least I did get to do The Cabbage, The Grapevine, and Donner's Pas as a trainee with USA.....it REALLY helped out alot....so sdaniels...have you had a student do SandStone yet? That was the first mountain I did by myself...at 1 am it sure did scare the hell outta me! lol I gotta trucker friend who's been truckin' since '93 on the phone with me when I did it....at 46,000 I went down in 7th with as much engine break as possible...but then again...I've learned ALOT since 6 months ago! But, it helped out.

 

if it took me 30 minutes or an hour to stop and shop for food, that's where i'd be. e-logs be ######...cause you know your break will be coming up and then what, no groceries, i don't think so....

 

Yeah lol I had a "clear" understanding with my DM if I ran the weekend 2 weeks back to help out that he'd get me in by Monday evening. well Sunday night I was in Indiana with a preplan back south of Nashville with 10 left on the 70. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. They got me in Thursday night instead for a long weekend.

Kinda complicates things too between the day and night dispatch I don't think communication is real good between them and remember there are only 3 or 4 of them there on any given evening/night. Throw in a vacation and complicates things even more lol if you remember awhile back when mine was out my temp DM was a complete clueless nightmare the 2 weeks I had them

It'll work out d......just take a little more food and clothes out from now on cause you never know lol two weeks worth goes out with me every time now

If you're going to be in IL I'm going to be in grand rapids by Friday maybe we cross paths next few days. If so I'll buy you dinner if I see you out there lol

 

I'd have to concur......even with that #### box in the truck, not stopping to restock if i were that low is NOT an option....cause if i'm not happy, then nobody's going to be happy.......oh wait....that's my wife's line lol better leave that one to her.....easy enough to find a malwart or grocery store along route to get in and out of in 15-20 minutes and still be where I have to be on time......kinda like running out of smokes...just not going to happen.....i WILL stop

 

Dinky PM your DM manger I can find out if this a common deal with him or her . I only have been with epes for six months but I have an inside guy that knows the scoop on about all of them. I have been home every weekend but one and that was when I came back to work. I wont say that night and weekend have not tried to keep me out. I guess I am just getting to old to be pushed around. That being said if I was asked to stay out I would have to know what the load was and if they had something to get me back and when. They way things are at home now I am down to one car and she works all week it does me no good to get home during the week. I have found out though a good talk to the person over your DM just might work. I wont say that everything is great with my DM but he knows when I am pissed.

 

I talked to sdaniels on the phone last night we have the same DM, and he did say that our DM is known for "pushing peoples buttons". They are one vacation this week.....so probably didn't care to put a note to route me back home. I was gonna call the operations manager, but figured it'd just be way more worthwhile and personal if I did it face to face so that they can see how ticked off I am. It's just wrong to lend an extra hand and get the wrong end of the stick. Been taking showers everyday and my clothes are smelling horrible! LOL And NCDriver, just for the record, sorry for calling you a SOB.....I've just been really upset at what has happened guess I had to point the finger in the wrong direction!.....oh and there is a little cherry on top of everything that's happened to me.....I didn't get paid for 2 loads I did last week....sent in confirmation number on a transflow and trip pak scan and payroll said there's no such number on the website! So, I rescanned again a few minutes ago.....can things get worse for me now.....well yeah, my truck will probably die on me tomorrow, that HAS to happen to me because I know wife won't cheat on me or leave me....she is VERY religious so if anything bad happens my truck will probably die on me on my way back! lol

 

sometimes it just rolls on top of itself like that lol i sure hope by saying that that you didn't just kill your truck before you get home......hehehehe

and sometimes helping out will bite you in the ###......on my way to grand rapids and got a preplan.....glad to hear that until i looked at it....nothing like knowing on thursday that you're going to be left hanging for the weekend in tennessee......no way they even tried to plan me home this weekend.....

that'll be 2 weeks out 2 1/2 days in and then 2 weeks out all over again..... and 14hrs home during one of those weeks.....not exactly what I signed on for either.....but i'll get the favor back.....you can count on it.....

not going to complain about it though......kinda figured things might be screwed with a midweek holiday anyway so already had told the wife 50/50 i get home or not....just suck it up and do it and then have a little chat with my dm when i do eventually get in.....had to do this with him once before.....sometimes he forgets you can't take advantadge of those that take care of you.....i can eat the first 2 weeker.....did it voluntary and can't complain about it.....i don't mind in the least stepping up and running extra if we're backed up and they ask.......it's when i have it pushed on me without so much as asking first that i get a little irritated and then back to back with the first one.....

pretty bad storm coming up into toledo this afternoon.....awesome mezoscale cell could see a long ways out......massive circular outflow that i've only seen pictures of since we don't get storm cells like that around home.....power lines down on 475 had it shut down in both directions backed up 5 miles...that was alot of fun especially since nobody was saying anything on the radio so had no idea which lane to be in....turns out that wasn't a lane to be in it was all closed.....power out most of toledo....saying possible tornado.....damage sure looked like it in places.....then lines down at the 1 in michgan as well but thankfully only southbound side.....

so....run on up to grand rapids in the morning and then bounce down to south bend to pickup.......###### up timeframe too i hope they have parking cause the planners have me going to an appointment that is 1 hour from when my 14 is up after a 3hr run to an 8am delivery......sometimes it really doesn't seem like they pay any attention at all.....they sure didn't pay attention to where i live vs where they sending me to.....but good miles for the week with these two runs with having to sit most of the holiday.

i had the same problem once before with trips not scanning in even though it all looked good.......don't worry they'll get it right on the next paycheck....
