Good point and a valid reason since all that work goes into keeping it shiny and sparkling, but on the road that fan is very much needed.
Quick story, years ago and during my years of being a real,,,,,,, well arse. I used to deliver to a place that were rather trucker unfriendly and they had this nasty clay dirt parking lot. every time I pulled in the darn fan would kick on for some unknown reason and shower this red clay powder dirt everywhere.
On all the forklift drivers -
WOW!All i can really say

How true, my husband does keep an mudflap as a floor mat just in case he was out and had to have one on a trailer, you know how people are not wanting to replace one on their nickel. Keeping an eye on the oil even in a new truck and extra bulbs is sound advice incase something goes wrong, it might even keep you from getting a ticket.

I guess maybe the owners should have paid to put some gravel down. Things happen. -
wait what the hell kind of truck u in mine has an auto and an on switch hell i think i can even turn it off
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
That is good news, just in case. -
A new engine is around $20,000 give or take, if you have that kind of cash laying around go ahead and pull the fuse for the fan. It is automatic on most trucks to try to driver proof the cooling system.

I turn my fan on manual if a forklift operator is being a jerk...my polite way of giving back.
P.S.
If your fan is running quite often you could take your truck to the local car wash and pressure wash out your radiator, air to air, and AC condenser. Take your time and pressure wash it out very well and then if you have an air compressor available i like to air dry mine by blowing it out with air afterwards.bullhaulerswife and TruckerNate Thank this. -
I notice when it kicks in, but it doesn't affect my shifting.
If you want to learn throttle control while shifting, up or down, leave the jake on all the time!
MikeeeeTruckerNate Thanks this.
