I'm not real sure about this but the way things are now with companies needing current OTR experience and you being 18 you might be wasting your money at this point getting a class A. Being the majority of companies wont hire you until 23 or older. At least look at jobs in your area before you spend the money on a school and then can't use it.

 

True. No sense in getting your CDL if you can't use it for the next 3-5 years. Some companies might make you repeat schooling all over again. Plus... how are you going to pay your school debt if you don't get straight to work?

 

Definitely don't want to discourage you... I just want to encourage you to make a choice that you will be happy with and like Tired says, be sure you have something lined up BEFORE you go to school... the loans aren't cheap!
