Hey everyone,
I want to shoot some footage of trucks being loaded and unloaded for a film that I'm making. I'm based out of New York City. Any advice on how I should go about getting this footage? The Hunt's Point Market shot me down and I'm waiting to hear back from Walmart corporate, so if you have suggestions on leads to follow, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Looking to shoot footage of trucks being loaded/unloaded. Advice?

Yeah. Don't go to any Anheuser-Busch facility. You'll be waiting a long time.
-
Good to know.
-
What type of trucks?
-
18-wheelers preferably.
-
If you are looking for any 18 wheelers go to hunts point, plenty of them on the docks near you.

Be prepared to be asked a million and one questions on WHY you want the footage, and so-on. It is a huge safety concern, plus most places don't want the risk of being liable for something and their legal dept most likely won't allow it for legal reasons I'm sure. Your best bet is to go to some small warehouses or loading docks and ask. A few bucks in the pocket of the shipping manager may help, especially since you're in NYC

thinking most places wont want you near their docks.

I called Hunt's Point but they told me that they don't give video clearance since 911.
SHC, how would I go about finding a small warehouse or loading dock in NYC? -
There is a warehouse by the water with statue of liberty in the back ground that would be good. Its wooded in that small area and the crack heads like to use that spot also so be careful. If you go down town, especially china town area, they off load the trailers on the shoulder of the road, so you wouldn't need permission to film. Just about any warehouse would probably let you, tell them its like free advertisement. Good luck
SHC Thanks this.
