I guess it's back to eating cat food for me.

My first load this week had 30 extra hours on the front end and 30 extra hours waiting for my 99 (still waiting). Told my dm I'd be way early before I even mac11'd it, but there was nothing she could (or would?) do. Now for my next load I wait 22 hrs for pick up and I have 36 hours to get it 257 miles, if that appt can't be changed. Did I mention I'm at 46% idle?

My dm's out for the weekend, so I talked to someone else. I asked "what's going on with my loads? Did I make someone mad?" and he laughed. I'm glad my poverty is funny to him, but 600 miles for the week minus my over idle probably won't result in a positive settlement.

If this is their idea of trying to lure me into a lease they must think I make decisions based on hopes and dreams rather than logic and math.

Heavy, central has prostars for us newbs, volvos, and a few cascadias. They have Pete 386's and 587's for leases. I wouldn't go around calling myself "heavy doobie" there though, even if it means something else.

    passion4polishing,
I read that you only had two loads for the week with 46% idle and only 600 miles. I start next Monday the 16th and I am a little worried. Is this typical of new drivers? I went through this with TMC 4 years ago and my family suffered because of it I am not wanting a repeat performance.

It hasn't been typical for me. Last week I drove 3000 miles, but I had to bust my ##### for it.

Heavy, I'm in a prostar lightweight with a twin bed, my friends are all in full size prostars with full size beds.

He is on at Midnight EST. On weekdays. And at 3pm EST on Sunday, or is it Saturday...Cannot remember.

Actually, I am 90% sure that Kevin Rutherford Started ATBS years ago, then sold off the business. He has good info on running a business. And has several courses that you can buy on the subject. Much of his show ends up being about fuel economy. But that is driven by the drivers that call. And fuel is the largest variable expense you will have while driving. So it is a good subject.

I still say never lease a truck from the company that controls your freight.
Also. Central will turn you into the collection agencys on your lease if you break it. But if you pay on time and finish it, they release nothing to your credit report. So leasing will not help your credit at all. It can only harm it. And since 90%+++ of drivers do not finish their leases, it means you have less than a 10% chance of a positive outcome.
Get on a dedicated fleet to maximize your pay, steady miles and hometime. Do not lease.
