I ran Quad axle milk tanker in Wisconsin for 4 years and wanted a change so I toke my expertise to the next level with going flatbed.

I have the cell numbers to 3 veteran’s at my company that I can call 24/7 with any questions about load securement. I

have made it a habit when I see other respectable flat beders at shippers to ask them one piece of advice and the common response is you can never have to many chains or straps on load and just because the DOT says you only need 3 chains does not mean it passes the ######## test.

I am proud to be called a flat beder because of the hard work and the responsibly involved.

You have made sure to secure your loads correctly to protect my kids and I will make #### sure to secure my loads correctly to protect your kids. And I promise if I am unsure how to load something to call other drivers/talk to other drivers at the shipper/ ask the shipper until I get the info I need to go down the road.

I take this flatbed stuff vary seriously and don’t want to kill someone’s family because I didn’t ask questions

I just finished training this past Friday and Monday I go off in my own here’s a sampling of the loads my while in training.

    While in training I hauled
    Plate Steel
    Concrete Mats for gas pipelines
    Wire Coils "Slinkys"
    2- Oversized Loads 10"6'wide and 10''3' Wide
    Asphalt Roofing shingles
Bags of water softener salt on pallets
    Sheets of Aluminum on pallets
    Aluminum Coils loaded suicide
Steel Coils on pallets loaded Eye to the sky
    Square tube steel

Thank you and to all the veterns who help out newbies I wish I could flicker my running lights to you as we run into the sunset with the HAMMER DOWN!

Sounds like you've about ran the gauntlet during just Your training. Just always remember, never rush when securing a load, because if you do, 100% of the time you WILL forget something.

I've been hooked onto the hopper bottom lately. Sounds like next week I might be hooking on the flatbed and hitting the road.

Flatbedders do seem to be some of the friendlier guys out there.

Good advice. I've been making a habit of walking a full circle around my truck and trailer before I jump in the seat and go.

That's what I do as well. I always hop in the drivers seat and do my paperwork, then jump back out and make 1 last walk around before pulling off the lot. I have not forgotten anything yet, but one day I am sure I will.
