Anyone know anything about the lighter duty Mac trailers(good or bad)? The one I'm looking at has crossmemebers on 21", and main beam is rated at 52000#. I don't plan on hauling coils, but do haul alot of road barriers. Just wondering how it would hold up. Thanks in advance.

I have not heard anything bad and I think that is good. I have looked at them also and liked what I saw. If the majority of what your hauling are barriers, you should not have any trouble. The weight distribution would be better than the concentrated weight of a coil.

That being said, trucking is about flexibility and preparation. Just because you haul a lot of barriers now does not mean you will for the life of the trailer. I would look at something that would be versatile should that gig fall through.

No idea on the lower rated MAC trailers, but the neighbor had a 80T and sets a 55,000# coil dead center and it doesn't flex an inch !!!!

I have heard from mac owners , the mac's are better than the retinours. according to them. I would go with the heavier duty, so then I knew it would do the job, no matter what the job.
