My intention is to join my friend working the oil fields of North Dakota. However I need a CDL and have no experience. I know CR England is a ripoff to work for and would never work for them but there school is only $1,995 if you pay cash upfront. So what if I just go there pay cash get my cdl and refuse employment with them and make more money in North Dakota? Is that a good option as I do not intend to get suckered into working for them.

You get what you pay for, and 1995 $$ ain't much money for CDL training. You would have to read the specific contract to answer your question, but remember ANY contract / agreement is worded in favor of whoever wrote it. Ask England.

If it were me I would check out a local tech school. Some have CDL training. You don't have to worry about a contract and the price might surprise you. I know of several people that went to a local tech school near my home. All of them are working as OTR drivers with good companies and are happy.

I was told that as long as I pay cash CR England tucking school they cant hold anything over me. People usually get screwed when finance with CRE and then quit/get fired and get stuck with the bill+interest at 2995. I was also told I should bring my car with me cause when I refuse employment after my CDL I need to find my own way back.

Well then, if that is what you were told by England, AND that is what the contract states, AND that is what you want to do, then have at it. Good luck.

Well I obviously wasnt told that by england but I did read the contract. It says the school is ment to prepare a student for CR England employment and there is a financing plan in which they take money out of your paycheck. But if you paid upfront and then after graduation decided to now want to work for them I cant find anything where they hold anything over you since you were never employeed by them they cant do anything to your DAC.

Well, I would have a clear understanding of the situation before starting. These companies ain't real friendly when you try to get over on them.
