When I am called into work I will fill in the rest of the details. -
Pulling doubles as your first job?
Sounds like a handful.
My instructor never bother to show us how to even hook up a set, let alone drive them.
Good luck with it.
I am finding out that turning corners with a 53' trailer is a lot harder than it looks, especially in traffic. Yikes. -
Actually pulling doubles is a lot easier than pulling a 53 footer. Turns a lot easier. I guess I was lucky, we got to pull doubles a few times in school. Maneuvering the dollies can be a pain in the arse but you get the hang of it with practice. It looks like I'll be pullin doubles too in a couple weeks, hauling almonds from the field to the plant.

I guess it would be. I see triples outside of Cal all the time. I am in Portland right now with 48,000lbs of flour to deliver tomorrow morning. Apparently people in Oregon love pancakes lol.
-
Pulling 2 trailers is enough for me, i can't imagine pulling 3! Things smoothing out for you at W/S?

2 lanes of twisting mountain road with these narrow little tunnels.
My arms are about to fall off.
Getting to know a lot of truck stops.
Not as bad as some people think.
At least not the ones I have been to.
Actually, it's kind of nice to have a place to just park and sleep after a long drive.
The showers have been better than I expected too. -
Cool. The more you do it the easier it'll get. I figure that first week was hard, specially with the breakdowns/low miles. I'm sure the miles will pick up too with a little time. The more you show them you can run the harder they will run you.

I am getting about 400-500 mi per day now. Hope that keeps up. Nothing is worse than sitting at a terminal waiting for a load. Spent 4th of July at a mall in Denver waiting for a load. It was hotter than hell. Denver reminds me way too much of Sacramento. Dirtiest air I have ever seen. Horrible.
-
Well that's decent miles. Sucks about sitting round in denver though. I've never been there but i figured the air would've been a lot cleaner up there in the mountains, guess not.
