2007 International 9400I, The air line going into the tank is leaking at the fitting and it has no nut or anything to tighten this up. is there an o ring in there or does anyone know how to tighten this. it is just a round brass fitting and I don't know how this comes apart. Thanks!!

Look closer. Its a flare fit quick connect. There is a small ring that you push towards the tank then you can pull the line out. This ring has like a little jaw. Picture a Chinese finger trap. That fitting works the same way. Once the line is off, cut the end and make sure end is flat. You want it even, then push it back in. it should take care of your leak.

i like the way you explained that (chinese finger trap) i hate those fittings everytime i have one leaking i replace with a feral and nut style.Bill43452 Thanks this.

Those forever failing fittings are used to speed truck assembly time on the line, and the end user gets to pay the high cost for them. I don't use them unless there's a clearance problem otherwise.

Just as bender and superhauler said:
Get rid of those pushlock fittings. They are quick and easy but are a leak waiting to happen. -
i appreciate the help i did what you suggested and it worked and stopped the leak. I would like to switch to the other fittings but i seen the snap rings that holds those in there are the holes threaded or do i have to replace the whole tank? Thanks again!

the fitting should just be threaded in the tank. unless it's something brand new they have came out with.Bill43452 Thanks this.

there are snap rings at the beginning of the hole around the fitting
-
You pop the snap rings and replace with same fitting. That's the new tank design by Hendrickson used on the 2007 to 2010 internationals. 2011 they changed to the Meritor tanks with thread fittings because the Hendrickson design has too many problems.

I have a 2006 and having the same problems. It's not the line leaking, but looks to be the actual fitting itself. Got the snap rings out, but how do I get the fittings out? Just pull out or are they threaded. Just didn't want to tear anything up and end up costing more.
