Ok, I have hauled Equipment, Livestock and End Dump but want to break into Flatbedding. Is Melton a good place to get started on my flat bedding skills? I hear things on this website both good and bad about Melton? What is the REAL story?? I am a hard worker and I am a good problem solver! Is Flatbedding a good fit, (I enjoyed Equipment Hauling)!

All they do is train you for two and a half days on load securement, then you're out in the world. If you didn't fully catch on, you run the risk of seriously injuring or killing someone. That means jailtime, not just a lot job. Start at a place like Maverick or TMC?

I am pretty good with chains/straps etc as I used to haul equipment. I just know enough to be safe but maybe not pretty! Lol! I know I will need to learn the best way of handling the odd shaped stuff,,, etc? But I wanted to see if Melton was a decent place to call home or not. I live in the Denver CO. area.. Any input much apprieciated!

I live in the Denver CO. area right on I-70. I think I will catch on ok with chains, straps and tarps but was wondering about Melton? You always hear alot of BS on these forum's but REALLY are they decent to work for? Is there a better company to go work for?

:biggrin_25523:I have about 8-9 months of OTR experience this time around.. Last time I drove a truck was around 15 years ago for my Father. I can't use this experience to get a job so i'm stuck with the recent stuff! COME ON GUY's (and girls!) any input on Melton Trucking? I am ready to go! In fact they (Melton) just offered me a job on the phone a minute ago! Now I REALLY need your help making a decision!

Go for it , but be sure you know what your getting into , they do not train as indepth as some of the other flatbed outfits. Your past experience with equipment hauling will be a benefit.
