I went back to Swift from Trans Am and I'm already sick of these idiots.

Nuthin' breaks wind better'n a Bulldawg.
    Remember those Mack posters FLATBED?
    How 'bout you Float?
Airflow lines goin' 'round and over a bulldawg standin' there, wearin' goggles, ---
to point out Mack's new aerodynamic design.

You've driven Big trucks without all the bells and whistles that aren't the most comfortable vehicles on the roads, providing proof that it can be done, --- so, even though you were thirty-some-odd years behind those who pioneered the Big truck truckin' industry with all that they did that contributed to the implementation of new technologies, --- creating an unheard of production rate after President Ike proposed that America adopt the vision of a suspected lunatic, to build a better highway, ...... and super-sized the system, providin' you with some insight into the less than luxurious Big trucks at the beginnin' of it all.
Those Big truck truck drivers back in those daze knew what they were gittin' into when they signed on to git-er-dun.
    And they didit.

Drivin' a B-Mack on the modern highways back east, dodgin' modern potholes and various broken modern Big truck suspension parts for awhile provides a small sample of how the 'Good Ol' Days' were, --- on a very good ol' day.

I wonder if they ever paused to ponder how they'd be remembered when the days of their future come to pass?
    Would they figure, ...............
    "Cowboy"?
    "Loner"?
    "Drifter"?
    "Wanderlust"?
    "Adventurer"?
    "Vagabond"?
    "Knight of the Highway"?
For sure they were pioneers, --- the roots of the industry.
What they did back in the day will probably never be duplicated in America again, as a result, in part, of what they did back then that made what we've become today possible and a reality. Talk about creatin' their own monster though. -----

Now-a-daze, if someone mentions doin' without a comfort feature that many have never done without, --- and personally wouldn't, ..... possibly couldn't, --- endure such discomfort, ... as they can only imagine and not fully appreciate or understand, --- respond to such a claim in a rather condescending, contemptuous manner, with references like "tough guy", "crazy", "idiot", and "flat stupid" attributed to those who are capable of doin' without, and do it, --- while those who won't, or can't, ....... whine about what others can do.
That comes across as spoiled, maybe lazy, with a mind that may only be open part time.
    Time will tell.
    Ya reckon.

    FLATBED Thanks this.

Couldn't do without? I don't necessarily think that's the case. I spent my time roasting my ### off in the desert. Why should I desire that here? If there's something which is deficient and can be fixed, then I'm going to want it fixed. If it goes to a shop, so be it. If I can fix it myself, then I'm going to.
No, I wasn't around during the times you speak of. Am I supposed to feel apologetic for that? Sorry.. not gonna happen. Like I said, we're well past those times, and I'm not going to act like depriving myself of something such as AC is going to enrich my life somehow. If it goes out, it goes out. I'll just have to cope, and I know I can. All the same, things such as the AC system are there for me to use, so that's what I'm going to do. I don't spend all day behind the wheel. I'm a sitework driver, so I am expected to get out of the cab and do some actual physical work. And once it's done, I'd prefer to drive from there to wherever else I'm going in a cool cab. And it's perfectly justifiable.
And if it does go out, I'm not going to act like it gives me some sort of nonexistent macho credentials not to have it.
And condescending? Perhaps I am guilty as charged, but no less so than the poster I was replying to. If you don't like it, you're just going to have to cope.. much the same as someone without AC would have to.
