Being able to see trumps them all! Leave them on till ya find out otherwise! In a scale house during daylight hours they may pull ya up to take a closer look is all. Best of luck!:biggrin_2551:

It would be interesting to compare with an HID kit. Less glare and better focus.

Not criticizing your project, as I haven't shopped to see what's available or legal for class 8 trucks. OTOH, the kit I used on my BMW murdercycle is like the difference between a flashlight and fluorescent shop lights. Not too much different than your before/after pics. The beam is focused below eye level and doesn't dazzle oncoming traffic.

Something tells me you probably already looked into HIDs.

I agree and I doubt the scale house will even notice them unless I was dumb enough to have them on....LOL

Yes the Volvo is tough to find anything for and especially and older Volvo 770 like mine. They make some great LED headlights for those with standard headlights on some of the classic model trucks. Those are around $600 to replace with LED headlights and not even 1/3 as much light as the ones I bought.

    RedForeman Thanks this.

That '240 watt' part makes me wonder if you shouldn't see about the legality BEFORE some cop stops you and cites the letter of the law. Would be a bummer to have your vehicle shut down till the light bar is removed.

The worse thing would be to cover them up, but I could remove it in about 10 minutes.

Lights look cool however, i believe any lights you put up like that have to be amber. Dot could have you remove them on the spot.
