Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone on here ever drove for Wyson Trucking, in Massachusetts? They mostly haul tankers, they have one lowboy, 4 dump trailers, a livefloor and a dry bulk. They are a local company. Heres the link to their website. http://www.wysontrucking.com/Default.aspx If any of you have worked for them or know someone who has/does, how are they to work for? Do they pay good/decent? How do they treat their drivers?
I'm gonna be looking into them soon, once i turn eighteen, to see if they would hire a new driver and could keep me in Massachusetts. I plan on talking to them before I go for my CDL permit and schooling, that way I don't have to worry about if I go for my CDL, will I be able to find a local job that will stay in Mass. until I'm 21 and can go OTR. So, if any of you know if they would consider hiring a new driver, that would be good info also.
Thanks in advanced for your response,
Kevin

Suggest that you actually call them and see if they will take you at 18 with no experience. Their website doesn't have anything resembling "recruiting" other than the people that you can call. Straight from the horse's mouth is better than getting info second-hand, IMO.

You might wanna make sure but i dont think you can get your class a till you are 21 and all the trucks you just listed would be class a.

I believe OP would get a "K" restricted license at 18. Intrastate only. Don't know if this restriction will let you get hazmat (for fuel transport), oversize/overweight, etc.

I had a K restriction when I was 16 and had full endorsements and hauled anything I wanted. Hell I bought my first truck when I was 18 so it can be done. To the op I would call them first just to make sure.

Well, thats what I plan on doing, but I'm gonna wait a little while, because first I wanna be 18 and out of highschool. This year is my last year of high school, so thats still a year away. And I figured if I could get other useful info, such as how they are to work for, and how they treat their drivers would be good to know before hand also lol.
The "k" restriction is correct, I will have to look into the other because I didn't think of that, and I'm not sure myself
