Ok lets see, a little about me.
I am 28 years old and married with 2 kids. I am currently starting my 2nd week with Roadmaster. I have decided to try my hand at driving, it has been a long decision that I have thought about for a long time. So I'll go a little farther back and explain it. I joined the U.S. Army in June of 2001 with a dealyed entry contract, and left for Basic Training in June of 2002, by Janruary of 2003 I was checking into my first duty station in Germany and I loved it. 5 1/2 years and 2 tours in Iraq, and a few injuries later I recieve orders for Ft. Hood Tx. I am also told that my Post is closing and I have 2 weeks to clear post. So I come home to Florida on PCS leave and wait 6 days for my soon to be wife to fly in from Germany (yes she's German) I pick her up in Orlando to take her up to meet my family (no she didn't speak english)
it was at the least to say interesting. We make the trip to Ft. Hood Tx. and I check into my duty station. A year later to the day its is time for my physical to reenlist for the 2nd time. After I finish my physical they procede to tell me that I can not go on the upcoming deployment that I am going to go to the Warrior Tranisition Unit. Because injuries from my last deployment had not fully healed.
So I go and get Med Boarded and find out they are going to medically retire me because I will not fully be ready to return to Duty in the time I have left in my enlistment. I fought that decision till June of 2009 and finally was tired of fighting for my career. I retired in August of 2009. My son was born in April of 2009. So there I was a career I had planned on lasting 20 to 30 years ended very suddenly and I have a wife and son that depended on me making a living. After 3 weeks of looking for a job I ended up becoming a government cotractor ( key word in there being Contract). after 90 days the company I was working through lost there contract.
So back at the drawing board. 2 Weeks after that new contracting (theres that word again. This is twice now) job at the commisary working in the warehouse. After 4 months I get notified that we lost the Contract. (this is twice). So back at square one. After a month of looking decided to move back home to florida to look for work so I left my family in texas. After a week found a contracting (this is the 3rd time) job as a Heavy Equiptment Mechanic, that I was going to start in 3 weeks.
Fly to texas the next day to pick up my family. Rented a U-Haul and drove it from Texas to Florida with my wife in the middle and my son in his car seat and a great dane on the floor board.Get here and unpack. Started work. Worked for 6 months and I get notified by the boss (you guessed it contract ended)(3rd time). So me and the wife talked and I decided to go to trucking school, and that brings me to the current time.
My time leading me to be a trucker
