Yeah, Obama knows alot about trucking and profits, that's why 2 "Green" companies that he allowed to have grants for Millions in taxpayer money went backrupt right after they cashed the check. Please try again.

Oh, and why do fleets buy those "aero" trucks, because it's cheaper to put a $1500 plastic hood on a truck instead of a $5000 hood when one of these mega fleet "6 months and I'm a trainer" drivers tears the hood off in a parking lot because they can't drive.

Ukumfe, G/MAN and SHC Thank this.

I'll take less money to drive a hood than to get more money driving a road-egg.

You hit the nail on the head. Most drivers (my father included) has lost almost all hearing in his left ear and some in his right. The hearing specialist in Indy said it is a common this for truck drivers due to having the window down. I've only been at this for 9 years but I too have diminished hearing in my left ear.

Funny thing is when I started here at ACT I had a choice between a 2007 W900 with a Cat motor or a 2010 T660 with a Cummins. I chose the T660 with a Cummins. I guess you are wrong.

I met a O/O a while back while eating at petro. He spent $10,000 on a 85' Pete, did some work himself getting her ready for the road he said like an extra $15k. He pulls flatbed makes more than a $1.00 cpm a mile, forget the exact number don't want to say something outrageous, but he gets 6-7 but doesn't care because truck is paid for and he makes good money. I was driving on 95 a week ago and a Pete pulling a reefer macked out beyond belief was hammering down the fast lane. Why I noticed was 1st I heard him and then saw how gorgeous his truck was. Sounded beautiful. Status of showing off and custom rig where not too many u see I love. I like both aero and long nose trucks. Fuel mileage I'd say driver and how well maintained the truck is. Most company trucks don't get the maintenance they deserve compared to someone that babies them.

According to a DTNA press release from Feb or March, their entire 2013 lineup (including Western Star) has already been certified for 2014.
