OK, dropped in Hebron KY and we are running empty to Chicago to pick up FedEx heading to Bessemer AL, then we are heading over to Tunnel Hill to get our new truck. I sent a message this morning saying we needed new batteries and an oil change. Message came back we are getting a new truck. Pretty sweet. It is because we are on the reefer board. Need catwalks to legally do pretrip on the reefer so the reefer fleet is getting all new trucks.

Oh, I should say this is after we went through the regular Amazon cancelled load drill and then went to Toyota to pick up load to Laredo, after waiting for 90 minutes for the trailer number, we found out the load had already been picked up earlier. So then we sat at a TA for a couple more hours until they came up with a plan. Just wanted to make sure you all realized it happens to us to.

Thats soooo cool you all are getting a new truck. That totally rocks! Moving from old to new is also cool. You are able to get rid of all the old crap you never used! Thats awsome! Congrats!!

Hey Craig, I am a current student getting my CDL and live 20 minutes from Tunnel Hill. I have been doing a lot of research on trucking companies and find that US Xpress would be in my best interest. My only concern is teaming with someone. I can put up with a total stranger to get my hours in after training, but do not know if I could much after that. I guess my question after reading certain posts is are they making new drivers be a team? I want to be solo. Thanks and be safe!
-
Bullseye, If you you choose to go solo once you have completed your training, you can. It's up to you
-
All new student drivers must complete 120 hrs drive time
with an experienced driver. Then upgrade and then must team for 8 weeks.
After the 10/11 weeks total you can choose to go solo. -
Yeah...what ATL said! LOL
-
Thanks guys! No problem with training and upgrading and teaming for a while. I read a lot of posts on here and was a little confused on it. Seems like a good company to work for and it is only 20 minutes away from Tunnel Hill.
I do not want to depend on someone I do not even know much less a friend or family. Sorry!
From what I have seen on here are ones that
are willing to do whatever it takes to make money and survive in this crappy economic country and they are the ones getting the miles and making the money and well, the other ones are
######## and griping and barley scraping by. I wonder why? Well, I am here to go anywhere they want me to go. Anytime, anyplace. It is nice that there are some great people on here
that actually care. Thanks and be safe out there!

I start Monday as well but in Dallas. Good luck to ya and hope to see you out there one day
