.19 cpm....is that for all the miles the truck rolls?
Let's think about this. If it is, and the truck rolls, for example, 2400 miles during the pay week, that's over $450. How does that differ from the flat salary some companies offer?
You have to compare apples to apples; that is, gross earnings potential during the different phases of training.
Starting pay at $0.19/mi

i would laugh at a company that offered those wages new or not then after 4 weeks with a trainer ur on ur own with a fellow rookie....how is that possibly safe? i mean i was solo after 2 weeks first week boss rode with me second i followed him around like a lost puppy dog but i've been around trucking my whole life. 2 guys that possibly never even seen inside a big truck there entire life now thats scary

Starting pay can be misleading.
For comparision, stevens first 8 weeks @ $350 per week. Then rookie team for 3 weeks, also @$350 per week. Then solo at 26 cents per mile with increases every 3 months to 31 after 1 year.
Training is not free to the driver or the company -

Swift, Schneider and Prime all pay better, but they don't hire from Canada, which is where the OP is located. Sorry, I don't know what is fair or not fair for Canada.
