Schneider,FFE and a few others are having hard times getting work. When you are competing with companies who have been servicing the same oil companies for 10,20,30+ years it is gonna be tough some times.

bubzokrex, I believe some of these accounts have received a lot of new hires in a short period of time. There are only so many drivers qualified to train the new hires so I suspect once they work through this cycle, Schneider will open the doors up again to new hires. I covered some of this in a new post today in the following thread...

got any idea of whats the best option for compensation hauling crude oil??by the load or by the hour??one company offers by mile and by total gallons hauled ,15c per barrel !! by load if broke down ,,no loads=not earning !! by hr ,,it is there everyday you work plus o.t !! in san antonio seems to haul from east of shale formation from south of s.a say pearsall mostly south of shale...
but home time is the winner thanks for any thoughts

    Crude Haulers- West Texas

I passed through Big Lake, Rankin, Crane, Odessa, Midland, and Garden City on Wednesday July 11.

I noticed some yards had a fair number of transports parked.

Is there a slight to moderate lull going on with oil producers here recently?

seems, as of yesterday, to have only been a few-days bubble in the creek - Reuters reported back over 100 barrel already so there was likely just some ....

we dont know but the lull is not deep

    wowo6057 Thanks this.

My guess is we're going to see a slight decrease in the cost of Oil and a slow down in production between now and the up coming Presidential election. Then we should see things pick up again after the election.

I have a question as to who would be willing to accept someone who has 1 year OTR ,but i do not have tanker exp and do not have twic as of yet, i can get my haz-mat, but i am really trying to find a company that will take a relatively new guy with no exp. Any suggestions would be great. I do not get alot of time to search while i am on the road.

Schneider, but there may be a slow in hiring for a few. Ask the Rockdoctor, he's on top of things out there.
