"That 19c/mi is for every mile *I* drive. If the trainer takes over, I stop making money. The rookie team is for every mile the truck drives."
OMG!!!!

They don't call them the Sh*tty Green Trucking company for nothing. I'm also from Ontario. When I started I got $100 a day for the first 4 weeks with a trainer. Then $0.43 a mile plus $43 tarp ay to pull flatbed trains. After 2 months I went to a steel company pulling a 4 axle making $0.50 a mile plus $21.50 a pick and drop. No problem brought home $2000 plus every 2 weeks. Now I make $0.41 a mile to pull tank plus $18 an hour for every hour I'm unloading and loading. Plus home every night driving trucks that are no older then 07. There are plenty of better companies in Ontario. Celadon and Schneider are in Canada and hire newbies. Try C.A.T. out of Mississauga. A buddy of mine dad's an owner/op there and likes it.

If your gettin paid for all miles turned ,not just what you drive OK not so bad . 2 rookies in 1 truck ,guess you will always have a witness and a spotter

So .19 per mile in training is low, unless you'll be doing most of the driving. .21 for rookie team isn't bad since it pays on all miles, that's .42 split for my math challenged friends. That's what I started out at in 2000 with Covenant, but wages have been in the crapper. If you get the team miles, that's 50k a year easy. Most companies down here pay a flat rate of $400ish for training or something like .10 per mile for all miles. Good luck

TransAm is only $50 per day flat rate when with a trainer. I would have been much better off at .19 pm during that time.Last edited: Apr 18, 2013
