so i posted my truck on a load baord and the thing is one of the dispatchers called me saying his companies name is " Kirby's Dispatch" i was stuck in Nogales,AZ for 2 days and he said he had a load going to Phily,PA for 9500$. Now the thing i asked him was what hes MC number is and he said he doesn't have one. He works directly with Compnies and gets loads..How is that even possiable he said he gets loads back from NJ going to AZ for 4500$.

Please tell me if this is a scam and what i should ask him in order to know that it is.

Also he said he would pay 50% after loading the truck AND full payment once the product arrives to the drop off area!

He's operating a brokerage without a MC#. These "dispatch" services are nothing more than brokers in reality. If you're comfortable doing the load for $4500, pull it. There's a chance you'll receive the rest, but don't count on it. I wouldn't roll loaded until I had a valid Comchek though. I don't think I'd risk it personally, but last year I deadheaded from Nogales to McAllen when I finally got my trailer back.

what he said was that he would give half as com-check after i got the truck loaded. Any body that wants to talk to him on the phone..so they can find out who is more experienced about this should so they can really find out if this is a scam..

What would happen if he is running illegal and things go south? I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

he does give 50% upfront right after you load. Then all of it when the product arrives there. But its still fishy for such a big rate.

Maybe ask him for some other trucking companies who have hauled for him? If it's too good to be true ............

If he's brokering produce(or anything else exempt) he doesn't need an MC#
