I usually crank the landing gear up/down a few times.

The rooms are decent. Its free so don't complain. B grateful they atleast are trying to give us somewhere to do it.

The sad part is half the time fat ##### use them as a t.v. room

They'll look at you funny and maybe shake their head even if you're just jogging. I used to juggle a hacky sack and got a lot of laughs and strange looks. But juggling one of those with your feet for about a half hour is a great workout. And I would do it holding 25lb weights in each hand. I should start doing that again.

Can't worry about what others think if you want to stay in shape. Many will consider you're on the verge of losing your man card if you eat vegetables and fruit. Yeah, it's real manly to eat a 2,000 calorie meal loaded with saturated fat and all kinds of crap. :biggrin_25523:

IMO I could care less what somebody thinks if I sat around wondering what somebody else is thinking of me, in the meantime they're prolly jealous they're too lazy to do the same. Not only is sitting in the seat boring as hell, but unhealthy when dealing with DVT (deep-vein thrombosis) and cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses. As far as cutting my tires I wish a mafacka would! haha but seriously I doubt that would ever be an issue. Also I have tons of showers on my cards at all times. Depending on how long you stay out it's so much more than just a job, it's a lifestyle and it's up to you how you live that lifestyle, healthy or unhealthy! My day usually consists of getting up early and do a little workout, make sure my is secured (I do flatbeds), shower, meditate, eat and then drive. Not for everyone but works out for me. ;-):biggrin_25525:

That is so cool. You should write a book about living healthy on the road. No kidding, you sound very motivated. I was thinking about DVT too because before I got into trucking I used to do a lot of weight lifting and running. Then when I was trucking, I was always trying to get the maximum miles and not stop (back in the 90's). There were many times I drove solid for over 10 hours (and I didn't even know about DVT). Now I worry about what kind of permanent damage I did. This time I'm definitely going to try and move my legs and stretch them while I'm on a long run.

I used to hang a bike behind my sleeper too. But most truck stops are in such weird locations that I never really got a chance to ride it much. :Bike:

Seriously, if I saw a driver working out and exercising, (which I have) I wouldn't think less of him. I'd think better of him for wanting to keep up a fitness schedule on the road. Takes discipline and motivation and that shouldn't be ridiculed.

If you want to get in shape and get your fellow drivers involved just put your big screen in the windsheld and get a Richard Simmons cd like "Dancing with the Oldies". I am sure everyone would join right in. :biggrin_25523:
