I agree Preacher. I dont have to be home every weekend either. Probably cant make much money that way unless you have some sweet dedicated deal or something. I like the flexibility aspect.

But at least the author has a good article. A newby asks about lease/purchase I'll just give them that link!
Sorry Rookie, I didn't see this old thread. Thanks for merging! -
Lease purchases aren't all bad, just don't let the payments pile up. I keep records of every time I have to have the truck serviced or something, plus the payment record. Another 20k and I'll own it. Now to address the problem with money and miles. Only lease if you have a dispatcher that loves giving long hauls and offering trucks for accounts, such has Wal-mart, Lowe's, or a well known shipper. Take care of the truck, cut the service cost a little. Don't spend all your many on lights and stuff. Granted I'm allowed to alter the truck, I don't. Only use a Truck-stop diner as a last resort, I keep my truck stocked with food 2 or my 3 shelves are filled with food, chips, canned, anything that won't perish. To help with fuel, keep everything in working order. Do everything in your power to increase MPG. DO NOT buy this stuff that says it increases MPG, its a money making scam. Its only good for cleaning the filters.
I did notice a mile cut after the first 20 payments. Not so bad, still able to pay it off and keep a healthy wallet.
