What is the difference between a Condo sleeper and a Studio sleeper?

My husband found out today the trucking company he has worked for for the last 6 yrs won't be letting him bring home the truck anymore. We only have the one vehicle which I use for work, so he is calling around to different companies. He thinks Conway would be good, but I know that recruiters can sugar coat things (we have beeen through this before) so can I have HONEST answers about pay, mileage, bringing home truck, etc. Thank you for your time,

For information on the pay schedule

I will say this for Conway, things AREN'T perfect, but if you want to be a driver they will take care of you. Over the last couple of months even when going home or coming off hometime I have averaged between 2500-3000 miles each week. Also, when I call in and need to discuss things with anyone (shop, fleet manager, safety, or payroll) I have yet to talk to ANYONE who was condescending. I also have not been lied to, or asked to do anything which wasn't safe. I've been asked before during a relay if I felt safe to drive, or if they needed to reschedule the load for later in the day.

As far as bringing the truck home, you do have to have an approved place to park before taking it (this means basically an approval letter if parking at a business instead of home), and you can't live within a certain distance (100 miles(?)) of a truckload yard. The equipment is well maintained even if it is getting more miles now than it used to.

My husband and I brought our truck over to Conway and LOVE it. Our dispatcher is one of the nicest guys we know, whenever we need to get home he gets it done. I know things are different for company drivers but everyone I've ever talk t would say the same Conway is a good company to work for

Hi all! Going to Conway Truckload orientation in Jax, Fl. on the 23rd this month. I'm an experienced driver with 27 years under my belt. What can I expect during the 5 days of orientation? Any thoughts, suggestions or insights would be appreciated! I'm excited about this change!:biggrin_25520:

My husband has been w/Conway TL for over a year & there is no comparison to the previous company he worked for (five months is all he could handle of the other co.). Orientation will be easy for you since you have been in this career for a long time. Of course all companies have their own do's & don't's, just be sure to write down their specific ways to go about things. They are a company who really honestly cares about their drivers & acknowledges them every chance they get. They are a company of their word! I have never had to call them up re:reimbursements or pay issues (unlike the previous co.!) They keep him moving & his dispatcher knows when he needs a long run to make a good check on Friday. I enjoy reading their newsletter & what's going on in the company & w/the drivers. You have made an excellent move!!

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to it. Recruiter said there might be a wait on a truck after orientation. Hope not, or not too long anyways.

Most trucks with a high rise sleeper could be considered a condo. But, KW has a version called a Studio which is usually an 86 inch sleeper.
