Okay, this may sound a bit silly, but I was skimming through a webpage where someone had a bunch of pictures of different Prime trucks. The person posting these photos commented about how Prime trucks are typically always kept very clean and in order. So, do Prime drivers clean their trucks every day or something? How would you keep your truck clean all the time through all the different road conditions that you encounter each day?
Also, this next part may sound worse. I was skimming through another thread and noticed people talking about showering and how often they shower. A fair amount of the posters stated they shower every 2-3 days. The main complaint was the cost of showering and that why should someone pay when you can get it for free or with rewards. So...do most people shower every 2-3 days? Also, is there a way possible to get a free shower when you fill up and such?

I try to shower everyday but mostly it works out to every other and never more than 2. Sometimes you have to spend the nights at a shipper or receiver and they usually do not have shower facilities. When you get fuel you earn showers and points on your reward cards at the major truck stops. Usually 50.00 in fuel gets a free shower, If you have a team driver they throw in the 2nd one for free. It's rare that you should ever have to pay. When you do then can be from 8.00 TO 12.00. As far as truck washes, Prime lease drivers can wash whenever they want to pay, Company drivers are alloted two washes per month but if you have a lot of inclement weather, hit an animal and get bloody etc. you can wash more. We are a professional company and we project that image to our customers and the public

Cool, so when you fill up with fuel you can get a shower.
Interesting about the cleaning/washing of the truck. I figured that the inside of course is the drivers responsibility, I was just wondering if the company wanted/required you to wash the truck every week. Per chance, what does it cost to wash a semi truck. -
Depending on where you get it done $30 to $50. Most places give a discount when you get the trailer washed - Prime will cover that.

Also, if you pay cash out of network for a washout, you've now got 24 hours to get that PO or you'll find your request rejected... You will get no PO number back on your QC after 24 hours, and the fuel desk and payroll will tell you to take it up with your FM if you want to get paid cuz their hands are tied.
So don't be holding those receipts until the end of the trip and doing all your paperwork at once. -

Darn, got turned down by Prime.
I was looking to get my CDL through their school.
It could be because of ignorance on my part.
In February I got a ticket for not having my current address on my driver's license. I let it slip and forgot about it until I received a letter stating that I had a warrant for my arrest. OH NO!!
So I went down to court, showed proof of correction and was ordered to pay fine.
I naively thought that was the end of it. So fast forward a month and I am happily filling out the Prime application and when it gets to the point of asking if I have even been convicted of a misdemeanor I click NO with pride.(I was proud of my spotless record, DOH!)
Well I get a call back from the Prime recruiter and he's like "Umm.. you have a misdemeanor on your MVR. We need it to be at least three years old. Sorry, good luck."
I was totally ignorant. I researched it and I have a "violation of a written promise to correct" which is a misdemeanor. Just great!
So I don't know if I was rejected because of the misdemeanor itself or because I inadvertently lied about it on my application.
I've talked to one CDL school rep and he was surprised I was rejected for what amounts to a failure to appear. Another rep told me that Prime was tough to get into. There's no mention of a misdemeanor being a disqualification on the Prime website. Was it just a judgement call on the part of the Prime recruiter?
