I usually start out new with a run that takes all of 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete then get loaded the next day. Of course when the two weeks comes up this 3 hour and 45 minutes bites me in the butt when I try to make a long run becuase I can only get that much at midnight. Any solutions and how do I do that, and what should be my average because every carrier wants you to drive the full complement. Thanks guys.

Two weeks? This should be well off your logs after 2 weeks.
-
your either missing some details or your doing your logs wrong. It would only take 8 days to get that 3/45 off your logs if you worked every day since then. If you were off duty for 34 hours or more straight then your logs are reset and you have all your hours back.
-
Are you able to deliver it the day you load? Or do you have a set appointment? I am assuming you are on Electronic logs, if so maximize your available time by going to line 1 or 4 as soon as you can through out the week plus edit out any wasted time daily. If you are out past 7 days then look for a way to work in a restart if possible.
-
its 70 in 8 days not 2 weeks. I don't undrestand?
-
Company doesn't really let you restart unless you have to. At the begginning of the 2nd week, I got a 2100 mile run and ended up 5 hours shy of my destination and had to swap out the load.
-
Maybe I should stay on duty on that short day for at least 5-8 hours then i'd at least have 300 miles when I get that back.
-
yeah I know but beginning the second week, I came up on my 8th day and what I got at midnight was 3 hours and 45 minutes back so I could not make my 2100 mile run. I ran out of hours on the 3rd of July and had to swap.

Trucking is the only business I know where people will scheme to work more hours.
