Thanks BoneCollector. It's nice to hear that you're not always in the negative and money can be made.

No problem but don't drink the kool-aide based on me or moose, that's a decision that only you can make based on your personnel needs and goals. It's like anything else, if you want it bad enough it can be made to happen but it takes good business practice and commitment.

As a company driver I was making $500-700/wk running solo. I only ran solo % for 3 months and averaged about 1200/wk so more than a co but not as much as bone collector. As a trainer I make a lot more. My best check was $3800+ in one week, but I have also had 2 negitive checks, both were after a week off that turned into 10 days, because apparently its hard to get a load out of central washington on memorial day weekend.
I just started at kraft and am dead heading a lot so I switched over to the new pay plan which pays more base, but a smaller fsc, but over the last 3 days I averaged 8.5mpg so that fsc is working out well.

As far as lease terms as othere have said you are paying centrals lease payment, which is true I have seen that the payments we pay equal what paacar charges central, they do make a per contract bonus, but do not make money off a margin on the lease.
Lease terms start at 35mo and 350k mi. If you go over the miles you are charged an exces mikage, which comes out to about $65/wk for me. An extended warentee is offered as
t 350k or you can sign a new lease and they will let you out of the old one.

I enjoy the pay check and truble shooting (I have a MBA in supply chain management, well one class to go) so it is fun to apply what I have learned.

I do regret missing a lot of my children's milestones (5,2, & 4mo), but that comes with the job% or co.
As I'm a bit of a neard I know I have $150+ per day in fixed cost so it messes up my home time. I'll be sitting on the couch watching Dora the explorer thinking "I'm paying $150 to do this?"

So I type on my phone and can only see the line I'm typing on and the last 2 so I realized I missed a few points.
You can take over an existing lease and the term will be shorter.

Also I know Farmland and some other dedicated fleets offer company drivers pay in the 30+cpm range so that is probably what was going in there, but the base rate is 28cpm for the general truck fleet.

    larry73 Thanks this.

Hey Moose and Bonecollector thanks for the info is well valued! ....
I averaged 8.5mpg so that fsc is working out well.
:biggrin_2551: That's nice average running 65mph? anyways is great! and that fuel economy is reflected on your paycheck?
Lease terms start at 35mo and 350k mi. So lease term is 35 dollars per month? sorry? of course I will ask a recruiter at central I just wondering how is they hiring process? I have 6 months experience driving a refer,......do they hire first as a company driver then lease? how does it works? how much time do you have at home...by the way I watch Dora the explorer too lol.....

35a month?? We wish! The length of most of the leases is 35 months. I go home for 4 or 5 days every month. They do hire as company first in most cases. In some experience cases they won't hire you unless you lease. On Most new trucks the total payment is around 930 or so a week. As far as the hiring process, it's normal just don't try to BS your way in. If you have anything on your driving record make sure you disclose it to them! They will find out, if you didn't tell them about it chances are good you'll be going home without a job.

    BoneCollector,
930, is that including fuel, insurance, etc.. or is that just truck payment? As I start Monday leasing looks a little intimidating for a new driver with no experience.

Stated here is that you are an student right? as far as they told me as a recent graduate you can not lease. I have already 6mo experience they stated that I can start as step #2 but I do not know if team for how long or straight solo. The orientation for me thay said will be 3 days instead of 2 weeks. They also said is a LEASE TO OWN are they lying? cause all the info I did read here stated is just LEASE only. They told they pay first 30c as a company driver for 6mo and then go to a short term or large term lease (they didn't say how long is short and long)lol....
Thank you bone collector for all the info.:mcool:

    bangsistro,
I read that to I know I have to work for at least 3 months before I can lease, but with the numbers tha bonecollector was showing it can be intimidating for a new driver. Thank you for your input.
