Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

I'm sending it back to Rand. They are paying shipping this time at least. Just will cut my losses once I get another refurb. back.

 

I did a software update @ 3 weeks ago on my 710, it changed the layout of the TND dock on the desktop completly. 3 days later the unit showed a missing software message, it would not link with my laptop anymore and then stopped working all together. I called Rand technical support, they asked for the reciept which I no longer have. I then asked if I could just pay for the repair out of pocket, first they said yes but then told me since its a software issue and they could not help me. Is there anyone else that can fix this unit other than Rand in the Detroit Michigan area? I own a 500 a 700 and the 710 and am dissappointed with the response I got from Rand. I was contemplating buying the 720 but if I cant get any kind of support after the warranty is up, then I doubt I'll purchase anymore of Rands products in the future. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Yea my 710 freezes wont power up now and its only 4 months old.... The product sucks and i have a friend who has same issue. I will not USE RAND went back to GARMIN

 

Went to buy a 510 today and was told by pilot that they no longer sell them. I was going to buy it because it was cheaper and i dont think i need a 7" screen. They said that rand mcnally is coming out with a new version so i should wait. Is this true or what is going on.

 

i have now checked at 3 different places and none have the 510 only the 720s
